The autonomy behind Sitara Skies was proven in public first: at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, a fleet of helium-assisted aerial creatures flew autonomously among visitors — twelve aircraft, eight hours a day, four months of continuous public flight — with the methods published as a peer-reviewed SIGGRAPH 2022 art paper. The same system returned at the New Museum in 2026, two aircraft flying a four-month run. Together, that is more than 13,000 aircraft-hours above live audiences in public spaces. For scale: a typical show effect flies for two to three minutes.
Since then, the team has designed aerial-operations programs for flagship entertainment venues — work under NDA — bringing show-cadence operational discipline that most aerial vendors never have to develop.
