The team
Sitara Skies is run by Nathan Lachenmyer. Pilots are contracted per engagement from a vetted Las Vegas bench — see the pilot standard.
Nathan Lachenmyer is an MIT-trained technologist with degrees in physics, computer science, and electrical engineering. He leads Sitara Systems’ practice of spatial human-computer interaction — designing computational systems as part of the built environment — and built the autonomy software behind the aerial creatures that flew at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall for four months of continuous public flight — with the methods published as a peer-reviewed SIGGRAPH 2022 art paper, An Aquarium of Machines — and returned at the New Museum in 2026. Sitara Skies puts that autonomy and show-operations experience to work as a managed effect for productions and venues.
